On Saturday February 25th, 2012 We were happy to have Toddlers Academy in our Centre.

A light and optics were central theme of our meeting. We stimulated your imagination by lots of unusual pictures created by the kaleidoscope. We explained you how that unusual device worked and introduced the history of its construction.

We had a chance to broaden your knowledge about optics using periscope (invention of Gdańsk astronomer, Jan Heweliusz) that was associated mainly with submarines today though its using was much wider.

We were presenting you how colours were created and where optical illusions got from. We performed many interesting and spectacular experiments together. We explained what mysteriously sounding "anamorfozy" was and why they caused the effect of lengthening ears and noses, enlarging eyes and make many different funny deformations – obviously in mirror reflection. We were back in time and became witnesses of the birth of the cinema, getting to know how it worked. We also watched how colours converted into the bright light in mysterious circumstances due to secret Newton’s disc.
